Here you can also find Niharika complex, a complex run by Maa Vaishno Devi shrine Board. This complex has all the things required to satisfy needs of the travellers, right from Dormitories to food junctions.

Once you get yourself fresh and get read for further journey, you have to get a yatra slip from a counter near Bus Stand. This yatra slip helps shrine board in keeping the record of people that move in for pilgrimage. This yatra slip also entitles you an insurance of Rs.100000 in case of some mishappening. You have to produce this slip to enter through Baan Ganga checkpost. So do get this slip to avoid return from a point 1 Km ahead.

So, After getting the yatra slip your next step is to move toward the real pilgrimage. Your pilgrimage starts from the point known as Baan Ganga. You can move to this point either by foot or you can hire an auto rickshaw. Baan Ganga is a sacred water body, it is said that Maa Vaishno devi brought out water from rocks in order to quench thirst of Veer HanuMaan who was accompanying Maa Vaishno Devi. It is some times also reffered to as Baal Ganga, as per another story Maa Vaishno Devi washed her hair here.

From Baan ganga starts a hard to climb but greately exciting trip to Maa Vaishno Devi's darbar mostly known as Bhawan. The journey is tough but with the blessings of Maa Vaishno Devi it becomes really easy as there are lots and lots of stalls that provide things for refreshment. Many big brands such as Nescafe, cafe coffee day and Barista have also come up.

Not every one can climb and travel 12 kms on foot, but to their convenience there are many mules and horses to serve them and those who are ill or cannot even travel by horse there are palkis. Whole of the system is administered by Maa Vaishno Devi Shrine Board and one must say that the administration is world class.
